Summer Fayre

We wondered if a Village Fayre scheduled against England in the Word Cup might be a problem. In the event plenty of people turned out to support us and have a very happy time playing silly games, eating strawberries and cake, drinking tea, enjoying the barbecue and generally nattering and basking in the glorious sunshine.

Special mention to Madame "Colina" and her
crystal ball - an excellent mystic - who might, however, have used her talents to foresee England playing in the quarter finals on the same day. And also to Roger for gamely putting his head in the stocks where a lot of children threw wet sponges at him.

Fun Dog Show

Many dog shows were cancelled due to extreme heat - but not ours. A cool breeze and much nicer temperatures made for a lovely afternoon. The dogs were all beautiful, everyone enjoyed themselves and we raised £350 for our funds so very worthwhile on all accounts. 

Many thanks to everyone involved, sponsors, helpers, our judges, Margaret and Lauren and of course every one who came. Special big thanks to Chris T who did so much to organise it all and to Colin, as always, for his tireless work behind (and in front of) the scenes.

Harvest Quiz

Another very succesful quiz night, very well attended with a great atmosphere. Due to the huge generosity of all our players we raised an excellent £327 for the hall funds.

We would also like to thank all or sponsors and everyone who has donated prizes so generously and without whom we wouldn't make a bean. Finally we really must thank everyone who helps out for all their precious time.

Two Birthdays

Sunday the 23rd October 2018 and The Village Hall held a party to celebrate the birthdays of two highly regarded villagers, Les Moar and Colin Hart, one was ninety and one was sixty-five I'll let you look at the pictures and judge which was which.

Perhaps a hundred people enjoyed a superb buffet - wine and beer provided! A very sociable afternoon with a great atmosphere and of course a particularly special event for Les who enjoyed so many old friends queuing to wish him well and talk of old times.
