Recent Events - 2022
Our Platinum Jubilee special was our first event since the start of the pandemic. All for a good cause and we raised over £500 for the Friends of North Walsham Cottage Hospital. Our Midsummer Quiz followed with a presentation of the £500 by local MP Mr Duncan Baker.

Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
And we had a lovely afternoon. The sun was out, mostly, and we had the glorious backdrop of our lovely old church and its beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The strawberries, scones, cream cakes, sausage rolls and everything else went down wonderfully so thank you to everyone who baked for us. We had games that Colin carefully arranged so that no one came away any richer and it was just nice for everyone to get together after so long and have a natter - and also to welcome new people to the village! |
Midsummer Quiz.
Our first quiz in a very long time - thanks to Covid - and a great start! A wonderful lively atmosphere. Great questions (thank you Chris T), great food (thank you Colin, Chris Crouch and Heather) and great people - thank you all. And special thanks to the unsung heroes washing up in the kitchen! You paid for this? Also a big thank you, and congratulations, to our new Member Of Parliament for North Norfolk Duncan Baker, who not only presented our Platinum Jubilee cheque (for £505) to The Friends Of North Walsham Hospital but as you will see from the pictures joined in enthusiastically with the happy throng. And finally congratulations to the winning team - "The Friendly Friends" of North Walsham Hospital who lived up to their name by not just coming to Gimingham to accept our Donation - they stayed to win the top prize! |
Halloween Quiz
A spooky gathering of village folk on an October night - and with Colin in charge as Head Ghoul. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful food; Heather Lee for the baked spuds, Chris Crouch for the chilli topping, Chris Hart for the chicken and sausage toppings, Colin and Chris for the deserts, Heather Duffield for the coleslaw and cheese - and also a big thankyou to Heather and Keith for the washing up! Thanks too to Cargill Farms for the generous donation of potatoes - and very nice potatoes they were too. Thanks to Andrew and Colin for the terrifying decorations, to everyone who provided raffle prizes, to our wonderful quizzers who made it all worthwhile, to Chris Taylor for compiling yet another great quiz - and to anyone else I forgot to mention! |
