Saturday June 22nd 2024 - Midsummer Night Quiz

A really well attended quiz with a very lively atmosphere. Colin, as ever, our amiable quiz master. Thanks to Chris T for creating the quiz, to Colin, Chris H and Heather for the food. A very special vote of thanks to Cindy for helping out with the washing up!

The food was great, a ploughman's supper with ham, cheeses, pickles, rolls, fruit and a choice of glorious puddings.

Thanks to everyone who came, your generosity is so much appreciated and every penny raised is spent on the hall.

​Saturday July 13th 2024 - An Afternoon In The Churchyard

​Well, it was an English Summer. It rained. But that just added to the gentle atmosphere of an old English Churchyard in softly falling rain in July. A very lovely church and churchyard it is, even in the grey!

We had Andrew with the throw the horseshoe at the pegs, beautifully wrought and painted by Jamie, a tombola by Chris T, wine and water game with Chris H, a spin the dial with Sue ("gambling" in the church!) and of course our raffle manned by Heather. Some wonderful cakes ensured everyone had sustenance against the weather. Thanks to everyone who helped out especially Andrew, Colin and Richard for setting it all up.

Autumn Quiz - A word from our Quizmaster!

The succesful evening was great fun and raised £460 after all expenses paid.

It's success was dependent on people giving their time,  preparing food and making donations. The long list involves Chris T for compiling interesting and challenging questions, Dawn, Kylie and Andrew for working in the kitchen, Kylie for keeping scores, 

Cindy, Doreen, Gill and Roger,  Phyllis and Chris H for donating, preparing and cooking fantastic  food, Jo and Kev for their support and raffle donations and Dave for the photographs.

Despo and Kelly for fruit basket and Ali Cargill for donating the potatoes that not went towards producing a fantastic meal, but were used as prizes for the winners too!

Lastly, I should thank all those who attended the evening, joined in the fun and made the event so enjoyable and a successful fund raiser for the hall.
